Four of the six matches for each team are now over in the fourth round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying.

CONCACAF teams were back in action with another slate of 2018 World Cup qualifying games on Tuesday. It was the fourth of six games for each team in the fourth round of qualifying. All 12 teams played the same team they did in the third game of the round last week. The only thing that was different between the two matches was where they were played.

Some teams got back on course in their hopes to move onto the Hex, while others’ chances are slowly but surely slipping away from their grasp. There’s two games left to play for all the teams to make their final push into the top-two in each group.

After a disappointing performance last week on the road in Guatemala, the US Men’s National Team played in their unofficial home city of Columbus. There have been many memorable games played in Columbus and Tuesday’s performance was a complete reversal from their previous game against the Central American country. In the end, the Americans won 4-0 and retook second place in their group with seven points. Their last two qualifying games are against Trinidad & Tobago and St. Vincent take place in September.

Mexico is on fire as they won their fourth straight game in qualifying. As a result, they now have 12 points and have officially booked their spot in the Hex as they are now eight points clear of the next closest team in Group A qualifying. The next five qualifiers will be determined in the final two games as Group B and C are much closer from top to bottom. A complete look at the standings through four games played per team are listed below.
