What channel is STP 500 qualifying on?
After the NASCAR Sprint Cup enjoyed a rare week off following the conclusion of its West Coast swing, the drivers are itching to race again. The chance to win the first of two races at Martinsville this season begins this weekend with the running of the STP 500. Qualifying for the STP 500 will take place on Friday afternoon on FS1.
The STP 500 is the first race of the year on a short track. This causes major congestion during the race at Martinsville, as the track is only half a mile long and the cars in the back of the pack are lapped often by the leaders. Those in the front of the field will have to creatively and safely weave through traffic in order to either retain the lead or keep close to the leader.

Not only will drivers be looking to qualify towards the top of the STP 500 field on Friday, but the qualifying sessions will allow them to get used to driving on a short track again. This season has been dominated by longer tracks up to this point, so drivers will need to focus even more during practice sessions and qualifying to get used to the short track at Martinsville Speedway.
All the information to watch Friday’s STP 500 qualifying session is below. It will air on FS1.
