NXT Takeover: Dallas: Final match card

A look at the match card for NXT Takeover: Dallas.

The NXT Takeover live specials have been a hit since they began in Feb. 2014. Each show has produced some incredible matches that fans go back and watch on the WWE Network.

So far, NXT hasn’t had any Takeover specials in 2016. This is due to NXT Takeover: London taking place so late in 2015. Plus, there was a desire to have the next special during WrestleMania weekend, and that’s what will be happening on Friday night.

NXT Takeover: Dallas is arguably the most anticipated NXT show since these Takeover events began. The match card is loaded with dream bouts that fans have wanted. This is highlighted by the debut of former New Japan Pro Wrestling star Shinsuke Nakamura, who recently signed. He is set to have his first match under the WWE banner against Sami Zayn, which should be incredible to watch. All eyes will be on this, arguably more than the co-main events of the evening.

One of those headlining matches features Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe in an NXT Championship rematch from NXT Takeover: London. They put on a great match then and will look to replicate that on Friday.

The question here is if Balor will drop the belt a second time around. If he does, could this mean a call up to the WWE main roster on the night after WrestleMania? It has been speculated for a while, especially with the likelihood of Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows debuting anytime now. They could even show up at Takeover and make this post-match antics interesting. Could they even help the Demon retain?
