NXT Takeover: Dallas results: Baron Corbin vs Austin Aries video highlights

Full highlights and results from Baron Corbin vs Austin Aries at NXT TakeOver: Dallas

After losing in the initial triple threat to determine the No. 1 Contender for the NXT Championship, Baron Corbin responded by taking out his anger at William Regal on NXT’s latest prized signing in Austin Aries. At NXT TakeOver: Dallas, Aries would make his in-ring debut to try and get retribution.

Aries tried to start out his debut match in NXT as the aggressor, but the much bigger Corbin was unaffected by his strikes and took the upper hand. However, that advantage was short-lived as Aries caught him with a forearm and then a dive to the floor from the top turnbuckle:

Even still, NXT’s resident Lone Wolf wasn’t down for long as he soon took back the advantage from the newcomer, countering a move into a huge drop that sent Aries’ neck onto the top rope.

What ensued after this was Corbin just methodically dismantling Aries with submissions, strikes, slams, and everything in between. The Lone Wolf of NXT was relentless and showed off just how much of an advantage he had in size and power.

Against an indie veteran like Aries, though, Corbin got a bit too cocky and ultimately allowed the new NXT star to get his momentum going. It really started swinging the way The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived after he hit a big Missile Dropkick:

Aries then unleashed some inventive offense, using the ropes and the outside elements to try and make the size discrepancy not as much of a factor:

However, Corbin brought it back into play as he hit a monstrous Deep Six on the floor:

The NXT newcomer barely got back in the ring to avoid the countout loss and Aries then egged Corbin on as if to say he wanted more. Baron Corbin then went to hit End of Days, but Aries flipped to counter it and then rolled up the Lone Wolf for the three-count:

Aries stood victorious in his debut at NXT TakeOver: Dallas.
