Full highlights and results from Bayley vs Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Dallas
No animosity was necessary as Bayley and Asuka stepped into the ring at NXT TakeOver: Dallas. It was simply just two of the best women’s wrestlers in NXT, WWE, and the world stepping in the squared circle and doing battle for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Considering the unfamiliarity between these two women, the first couple minutes of the match were spent feeling each other out. However, it was shockingly Bayley that got the early upper hand on the far more powerful and usually more fearsome Asuka.
However, Asuka began to show signs of life against the NXT Women’s Champ as she countered a strike into a Fujiwara armbar. After some vicious strikes, though, Bayley got the advantage back and looked to be taking firm control:

The challenger fought back like she always does, though, and began to wear down the ankle of Bayley, leaving the NXT Women’s champ in a lot of pain.
Bayley then got some wind and sent Asuka to the outside and completed a beautiful Hurricanrana to the outside in a fantastic looking move, but only hurt Bayley’s already tender ankle:
A worn down champ couldn’t get her wits about her quick enough back in the ring, though, and Asuka was able to recover and then take over control, unloading on the champ and resisting counters with his amazing striking ability:

Every time that the champ would try to fight back, it seemed that Asuka had a response to make sure that she didn’t relinquish control. Ever resilient, though, Bayley then countered a kick into a kneebar that looked like it might do the challenger in:
Asuka would be able to fight back from that, though, and would lock in the armbar twice more and Bayley kept resisting. Bayley even got some offense in, but when the challenger finally got the Auska Lock in on the champ, Bayley tried and tried to find a way out, but couldn’t do it:
