Buffalo Bills: 2016 7-round NFL mock draft
By John Buhler
The Buffalo Bills have eight selections in this spring’s 2016 NFL Draft. Here is the latest mock draft for the Bills, hoping to satisfy all their needs.
The 2015 Buffalo Bills went 8-8 and finished in third place in the AFC East under new head coach Rex Ryan. Buffalo at times in 2015 looked like an AFC Playoff team because of their improved play at quarterback thanks to Pro Bowler Tyrod Taylor and Ryan’s patented blitz-heavy pass rush on the defensive line.
However, Buffalo came up short for the 16th straight season, extending the Bills NFL longest playoff drought after their .500 campaign. Buffalo in 2016 is poised to snap this playoff drought with a better than normal offense and another year in Ryan’s defense.
Buffalo will look to improve its team with its eight draft selections in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Bills’ first pick comes at No. 19, have two extra compensatory picks in the fourth round (No. 139) and in the sixth round (No. 218). Buffalo however doesn’t have a seventh round pick in 2016 as part of the trade with the Minnesota Vikings for backup quarterback Matt Cassel in 2015. Cassel is now with the Tennessee Titans.
Entering the 2016 NFL Draft, the Bills have eight needs (primary to tertiary) and will be able to address all of them with their selections. Primary needs include defensive end, offensive tackle, and inside linebacker. Secondary needs include wide receiver outside linebacker, and defensive tackle. Tertiary needs are at cornerback and at guard.
With their eight draft selections, will the Bills be able to satisfy all of their needs before rookie mini camp this spring. Here is the Bills up-to-date seven-round mock draft for the 2016 NFL Draft in the coming weeks.
