Buffalo Bills: 2016 7-round NFL mock draft
By John Buhler
While the Bills could go with either a defensive end or with an offensive tackle with their No. 19 overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, it would make a great deal of sense for Ryan to get an appropriate replacement for the departed and disgruntled Mario Williams at defensive end by drafting Emmanuel Ogbah at No. 19 out of Oklahoma State University.
Ogbah had an outstanding junior season for the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Big 12. He was an All-American at defensive end, was named the AP’s Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, and was a finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award in 2015.
He led the Big 12 in quarterback sacks with 12.5 and finished his collegiate career in Stillwater with 28 in three years player for head coach Mike Gundy. Ryan is going to love Ogbah’s upside and could use his raw strength, agility, and power as potentially an every-down pass rusher at defensive end, something Williams wanted no part of in 2015.
The biggest concern with Ogbah is that he is still fairly new to football, which could lead to him potentially busting in the NFL. While there are other more complete pass rushers in this draft, Ryan is a fantastic coach for that position and should take Ogbah and his upside at No. 19, all things equal. Ryan is the coach capable of tapping into all of Ogbah’s potential at defensive end.
