Chicago Bears mock draft: Complete 7-round edition
Chicago has a real need on the offensive line heading into the draft and if the Bears want to hit a home run in the draft without spending an early pick, they could select Kyle Murphy from Stanford at No. 106 overall. The senior left tackle earned first team All-Pac-12 in 2015, just one year after moving over from right tackle where he earned second team honors.
Stanford is known for churning out offensive line talent and Murphy is just the latest in the long line of solid Cardinal prospects in the trenches. He has the ability to play right or left tackle and can fill any voids on the line. Murphy has ideal size for a tackle, standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 305 pounds.
The Bears are looking for some defensive line depth and Notre Dame’s Sheldon Day could be a perfect fit for the defense. A big guy, Day stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 285 pounds. He decided to stay for his senior season which helped him earn a third or forth-round distinction by draft experts.
Day played well enough to improve his stock, finishing his senior season with 45 tackles, a career-high, 15.5 tackles for loss, 4.0 tackles, four pass deflections and two forced fumbles. He was a monster for the Irish and was pretty tough to block. If he can keep improving, he would be a perfect fourth-round selection.
