If you’ve been following Arizona State’s D.J. Foster over the past few years, you’ve probably seen a running back who has evolved into a dual-threat. Well, maybe he was a dual-threat all along and just showed it more in his final years with the Sun Devils.

What do I mean by dual-threat? It’s a versatile player who can do both the rushing and receiving for an offense. He acted as the Sun Devils’ all-around offensive threat from the time he set foot on campus until his senior year.

Chicago might want more of a running back in the draft, but Foster evolved more into a pass-catcher by his senior season in 2015.

As a freshman, Foster ran for 493 yards and two touchdowns while catching 38 passes for 533 yards and four scores. During his sophomore campaign, he had 501 rushing yards and 653 receiving yards with 10 total touchdowns.

Foster’s junior season was his best as a running back, finishing with 1,081 yards to go along with 688 receiving yards.

The Bears could use another versatile offensive weapon in the late rounds like Foster. He would be a nice complement to Carey and Langford in the backfield and even line up as a receiver, at times.
