Cesaro returns on WWE RAW to compete for No. 1 Contender spot (Video)

Cesar returned on the WWE RAW after WrestleMania to compete in a Fatal 4-Way to become No. 1 Contender for the WWE title

Early in the episode of WWE RAW the night after WrestleMania 32, Shane McMahon announced that he was making a Fatal 4-Way match the main event of the show between AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Chris Jericho to determine the No. 1 Contender to face Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Unfortunately, Owens jumped his rival Zayn before the match was even ready to begin and essentially put him out of action and leaving a spot in the match open. A surprise return was ready to fill the void.

With the other three men in the ring, Lillian Garcia announced that there would still be a fourth member and that it would be the man coming out. That man was a returning Cesaro, who has been out for several months due to a shoulder injury:

This was perfect for Cesaro to come back in this spot as it accomplishes two major things. One, you’re bringing him back in front of this hot crowd at WWE RAW in Dallas that will support him whole-heartedly. Secondly, putting him in this match makes him seem 100 percent credible and like he could be a top guy right away after his return. Both of those things lend themselves to the company being able to put Cesaro in a great position moving forward and everyone wins in that scenario.
