After a regime change and the loss of critical players in free agency, the Cleveland Browns will need to draft some quality players throughout the 2016 draft. 

The Cleveland Browns need talent on their football team. If the latest Browns’ front office and coaching staff wish to stay longer than a season or two, then they must draft extremely well. Luckily, the team has 10 selections in this draft. Hopefully, the Cleveland Browns can use having a wealth of picks and start building a winning foundation.

Who will be making the draft selections?

Every major decision maker in the Browns organization will have a voice in who is selected during the draft. Typically, a team’s general manager (GM) is the person selecting the team’s players. However, the Browns are without a GM after Ray Farmer was fired. Unable to find a replacement, the Browns made Sashi Brown the executive vice president of football operations, thus giving him final say over the roster.

In other words, while the Browns are without a GM, expect most of the decisions about player personnel to becoming from Sashi Brown.

When are the Browns picking?

  • First round: 2nd overall
  • Second round: 32nd overall
  • Third round: 65th overall
  • Fourth round: 99th overall and 138th overall
  • Fifth round: 141st overall, 172nd overall, and 173rd overall
  • Sixth round: 176 overall
  • Seventh round: 223rd overall
