Watch the ‘One Shining Moment’ montage for the 2016 NCAA Tournament
The Villanova Wildcats capped off a wild 2016 NCAA Tournament in a way that was only fitting. After the North Carolina Tar Heels tied the National Championship game with only four seconds left, it was time for Villanova junior Kris Jenkins to play the role of hero. He caught a pass deep on the right wing and drilled a buzzer-beater three as time expired to win the title. He certainly encapsulated having one shining moment.
Jenkins’ shot was just one of the many incredible and crazy moments that filled March Madness this year with things like Middle Tennessee State take down the Michigan State Spartans in the first round and so many other upsets and unforgettable moments all throughout the last three weeks.
Subsequently, the annual showing of the montage set to the famous Luther Vandross sung tune “One Shining Moment” was must-see stuff. Indeed it was, which you can see here:
"Congratulations, Villanova, on your One Shining Moment! https://t.co/xhFSCWnrd9 #NationalChampionship— NCAA March Madness (@marchmadness) April 5, 2016"
That’s definitely everything that you ever needed to see from this after that National Championship game. It was an unreal and exhilarating finish to a 2016 NCAA Tournament that was that from start to finish. There were heroes, there scapegoats, there were upsets, and there were plenty of players that had their “one shining moment.” However, after Monday night, it’s pretty clear that Jenkins’ moment shined the brightest.
