Dexter Fowler’s daughter made headlines Tuesday night after seeing her dad on TV.
There is a recent craze that has swept the nation and it involves athletes and their infant children. From Derrick Rose’s son to Riley Curry’s takeover of press conferences in last year’s NBA playoffs, these children seem to be intent on taking over the realm of social media.
The newest addition to this group is the daughter of Dexter Fowler, the Chicago Cubs outfielder who was allegedly signing with the Baltimore Orioles in February, only to return to the Cubs on a one-year deal soon thereafter.
Fowler’s wife, Darya Aliya Fowler, tweeted a video of the couple’s daughter, Naya, seeing her dad on the television screen during the Cubs game against the Los Angeles Angels Tuesday night.
Scenes like this are always nice to see, but also a bit sad once one realizes that the daughter misses her dad. But this is adorable, so no sadness is allowed.
Cubs fans likely had a similarly excited reaction to seeing Fowler Tuesday night, as he has hit .625 through the first two games of the season with four runs scored.
His return to the Cubs helps keep the team as the favorite to win the 2016 World Series, at least at this point in time. A 2-0 start to the season and a 15-1 combined score against the Angels has gotten the favorites off to a dominating start that will make the rest of the league understand the Cubs are already the team to beat.
The Cubs remain on the road until next week when the team plays its home opener against the Cincinnati Reds on April 11. Until then, Naya Fowler may join the ranks of Riley Curry and become the new athlete baby to look out for on social media.
