2. Charley Hoffman

Yet another player who consistently shows up on leaderboards season after season in Charley Hoffman makes this list. Hoffman is a great golfer on the tour that always seems to be firmly in the money and bringing home nice paydays. Moreover, he was one of the players in that grouping behind Spieth on the leaderboard last season. That being said, Hoffman will look to replicate and build upon what he did last season.

Of all the top-10 finishers from last year at The Masters, Hoffman is interesting in that he was actually somewhat keeping pace with Spieth through the first two rounds. Things collapsed for Hoffman come Saturday, but that he was able to keep up with what wound up being a historic pace through 36 holes is telling of what Hoffman is capable of when he’s locked in and things are going right.

The question for Hoffman at The Masters, though, is whether or not finishing tied for ninth and playing as well as he did in 2015 was just a flash in the pan or a sign of things to come for him at Augusta. Only time will tell, but last year’s performance is enough to make him a dark horse to win it all this year.
