NBA – Chicago Bulls (1994-95-1997-98 season)

After winning three championships to start the decade, the Bulls took some time off when superstar Michael Jordan left to try his hand at baseball. When MJ returned, the Bulls found their way back on top of the league.

Jordan’s return midway through the 1994-95 season helped the Bulls get to the Eastern Conference semifinals, where they would lose to the Orlando Magic. The following season, everything was back to normal in a big way for the men from the Windy City.

It started with a 72 win season during the 1995-96 season that still stands today as the best record in NBA history (and can only be tied by this year’s Golden State Warriors team). The Bulls went back to the NBA Finals and made light work of the Seattle Supersonics.

The following two seasons, the Bulls won over 63 games each year and made it back to the NBA Finals, where they would meet the Utah Jazz both times…and beat them four games to two each season.

After the second three-peat came to an end, MJ hung it up again (before returning to the Washington Wizards seasons later) and the Bulls haven’t sniffed the NBA Finals since.
