41.
With Shaun Livingston only committed to the Warriors for one more season, finding a backup point guard for Steph Curry in the draft seems like a logical decision for Golden State. Trimble has a lot of qualities that should play well within the Warriors system. Most notably, Trimble is an excellent pick-and-roll ball-handler. He is very capable of getting downhill into the lane where he does an excellent job of getting to the foul line (5.1 fouls drawn per 40 minutes) and his 28.7 percent assist rate shows he’s also good at finding shooters along the perimeter. Trimble’s per 40 minute numbers (18.1 points and 5.9 assists) suggest that he’s a player who is comfortable with the ball in his hands, creating for both himself and his teammates.

While Trimble’s physical profile (6-2 with a 6-2 wingspan) doesn’t fit the Warriors’ style of finding multi-faceted prospects, he’s a good outside shooter who made 35.6 percent of his 331 three-point attempts in two years at Maryland. As a backup point guard, Trimble could shine as a primary scoring option and his lack of versatility shouldn’t be much of an issue in that role.
