Chicago Bulls vs Miami Heat

Any other season, the 39-39 Chicago Bulls would be headed to the NBA playoffs, but right now they’re in a battle for eighth place with the Pistons and Pacers. Two games back of eighth heading into Wednesday night, the Bulls can’t afford to lose any more games from here on out. Heck, two more losses would eliminate them from contention.

After missing an extended period of time with an injury, Jimmy Butler is finally back and ready to help lead Chicago to the playoffs. On the year, he’s averaging a team-high 21 points to go along with 5.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists. Pau Gasol is having an All-Star type of year as well, putting up 16.5 points and 11 boards per game. Derrick Rose is also averaging 16.5 points.

While the Bulls are fighting for a playoff spot, the Miami Heat are firmly in the postseason, sitting at 45-32 with five games remaining. Unless the Heat have a complete meltdown before the season is over, they’ll finish anywhere from No. 3 to No. 6 in the Eastern Conference standings.

Dwyane Wade has had a fantastic season for the Heat, looking less like an aging veteran and more like the younger version of himself. He’s averaging a team-high 19.2 points per game as well as 4.7 assists. Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside make for a devastating one-two punch in the post. Bosh is putting up 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds while Whiteside is posting 14.1 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game.
