Chicago Bears: 5 best NFL Draft picks of all time

1 of 6

Who are the top five NFL Draft picks from the Chicago Bears’ deep, rich franchise history?

The Chicago Bears are one of the most decorated organizations in NFL history. With eight NFL championships and one Super Bowl accounted for, the Bears are looking to add No. 2 in the coming years, but putting together solid NFL Drafts will be imperative to success.

It’s hard to believe that the Bears’ last, and only, Super Bowl came 31 years ago and since then, Chicago has made just 10 playoff appearances — four since 2000 and haven’t made the postseason since 2010.

This doesn’t mean that Chicago hasn’t had its fair share of solid draft picks. In fact, the Bears have drafted some of the all-time NFL greats in previous drafts and will be looking to do it again in the 2016 selection process.

In recent years, guys like Devin Hester, Matt Forte and Alshon Jeffery have stood out as impressive picks. Those guys have all had huge impacts on the organization, but talents like them don’t come around every year. Having elite NFL Draft scouts can change the entire outlook of an organization.

Could this be the year in which the Bears find another hidden gem like Jeffery or Forte? Will Chicago’s No. 11 overall pick be a future Pro Bowler or Hall of Famer? Time will tell, but the expectations will be sky-high no matter what.

On that note, we will take a look at the top-five Chicago Bears’ draft picks of all time. Not necessarily in terms of maximizing talent on late picks, but guys who have been selected, even early in the first round, and have made their mark on the organization.
