No. 3 – Orlando Magic

True, the Magic aren’t the worst team in the NBA this season, but we can just say that the hopes for a playoff run went out the door not long into the 2015-16 season. Orlando is a city that would embrace someone with a history of winning like Auriemma’s in hopes of bringing back the postseason to Mickey Mouse’s home.

Orlando also has a good young nucleus that, if they aren’t traded away to another team in hopes of getting aging superstars to play for the Magic, might have this team back in the playoffs very soon. Auriemma is great about working with young players and molding them together into something resembling an NBA franchise.

The location also would be a major factor that might convince Auriemma to make the move. Like we wrote earlier, people in their 60’s start to think about the future and that includes retirement to places like Florida.

Auriemma would head to a major city, but not one of the biggest ones in the league. It would be an easy adjustment coming from a Hartford, CT area that is decent sized, but still dwarfed by neighboring areas like New York City and Boston.
