Los Angeles Lakers center Roy Hibbert fell and hit the deck as Kobe Bryant drained a three.
Roy Hibbert always seems to have those moments on the court that ends up with the 18,000 in attendance and the millions watching at home shaking their heads in unison. On Friday night against the New Orleans Pelicans, Hibbert was doing those types of things on the court again, but Kobe Bryant wasn’t going to let that nonsense get in the way of him going out with a bang in his final trip to New Orleans.
As Bryant got off to a hot start with 14 points early on, he decided to try one of his famous off-balance three-point field goal attempts. It was a thing of perfection, but as Bryant’s shot was going through the hoop, Hibbert ran through the paint, most likely to crash the glass, but instead he fell right to the deck hard.
The good news is that despite Hibbert’s lack of ability to do anything functional on a basketball court, the legend that is Bryant put down the three in one of his final games. As for Hibbert, it’s another moment that he would probably like to just forget.
Don’t tell D’Angelo Russell.
