The Tennessee Titans will not have the services of second-year pro wide receiver Andrew Turzilli, as he has been suspended by the NFL for four games.

It seems that the NFL has begun levying out a handful of performance enhancing drug related suspensions on Friday afternoon. The latest young player to receive a four-game suspension without pay to start the 2016 NFL season is second-year wide receiver Andrew Turzilli of the Tennessee Titans.

Turzilli played sparingly in his rookie season with the Titans in Nashville, only accumulating two catches for 25 yards and a long of 18 in Tennessee’s dreadful 2015 NFL campaign. The Titans will have to push forward in 2016 without Turzilli for their first few games, which is a big blow to his development as an NFl wideout.

See the Titans now have one of the league’s best wide receivers coaches of the last 20 years in new offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie, formerly with the Atlanta Falcons. Robiskie helped Atlanta reach new heights with Matt Ryan at quarterback, Tony Gonzalez at tight end, and the dynamic wide receiver duo of Julio Jones and Roddy White on the outside the last several years.

Robiskie is keen on player development and while Turzilli will still be able to take part in Titans’ training camp and fall practices, he won’t be able to take the field for the Titans until Week 5 at the absolute earliest.

As a collegiate, Turzilli split his time between the Kansas Jayhawks of the Big 12 and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights now of the Big 10. Perhaps he can still learn a lot by just practicing with the Titans this offseason, but not having the ability to show what he can do in the first four games of the 2016 NFL season may have him on the fast track of being out of the league by season’s end.
