Alex Rodriguez is finally on the board with a home run here in 2016 as he moves up the ranks

In the waning years of his career, despite any past transgressions, following the home run total of Alex Rodriguez is something everyone around the world of baseball is doing. He’s already in that 600 range and he’s certainly looking for more as he continues playing.

With the 2016 season underway this week, however, he has yet to tally one for this campaign. Well, that all changed on Saturday.

The Yankees are playing the second game of their series against the Detroit Tigers, and in the first inning of this one, A-Rod got his first home run on the board for this 2016 regular season.

While we’re still only in the first week of the season, people have been waiting for the moment that A-Rod would get the home run parade going for 2016. Well, Saturday was that day.

So now, for as far as where that puts him on the list? Well, he’s quickly sneaking up on the greatest Yankee legend of all-time.

Should he stay healthy, there is a very good chance that he will pass Ruth this season.
