Golden State announcers call Spurs fans ‘jerk offs’ (Video)

The Warriors commentators described Spurs fans trying to distract their telecast jerk-offs.

As the Golden State Warriors try to chase history and break the San Antonio Spurs’ record in the process, this was always going to be a heated game. The Warriors are trying to better the 95-96 Bulls’ record while the Spurs are trying to become the first team to go 41-0 at home in a season. And outside of Tim Duncan, the Spurs decided to play all of their guys in an effort to stop Golden State in their tracks.

Since this game is on NBA TV, they opted to show the Warriors’ local feed rather than have national broadcasters. Having a national audience be subject to homerism can always be a recipe for disaster, but the Warriors may have pushed the boundaries here.

The two teams went into halftime in a defensive battle deadlocked at 35. While Spurs fans tried to distract the broadcast, the announcers referred to them as jerk-offs on national TV:

Was it annoying on the Spurs fans’ part? Sure it was, but all they were trying to do was get their 15 minutes of fame. With one team’s record guaranteed to end tonight, this is obviously a game that’s being watched by millions of people, and as such more caution should be exercised from here on out. This despite the fact that the Spurs and Warriors are poised to become big rivals for years to come.
