Shane Lowry nailed the 16th hole-in-one at Hole 16 in Masters history with a gorgeous drive.
Entering the final round of The Masters, 15 people had gotten a hole-in-one at Hole 16. Wanting to make sure that the number of aces was more appropriate for the hole, Shane Lowry nailed the 16th hole-in-one of Hole 16 at Augusta National Golf Course. He did it with one of the prettiest drives that you’ll ever see.

While that distinction of 16 holes-in-one at Hole 16 did not last long thanks to Davis Love III, it was still pretty cool that at one point, Hole 16 had 16 holes-in-one. Lowry wisely chose his 8-iron club, knowing that he needed a short precise shot onto the green in order to get the ball close to the pin. He came up a tad bit shorter than he had originally expected, but a friendly bounce helped propel the ball all the way into the hole.
Lowry made the cut for the first time at The Masters after failing to make the cut in 2015. It was just his second time playing at Augusta, but you wouldn’t have guessed that by the way he nailed the hole-in-one.
