Nike releases full Mamba Day video, paying tribute to Kobe Bryant before his last game ever on Wednesday
Mamba Day is coming on Wednesday as Kobe Bryant will play in his final NBA game of his career against the Utah Jazz. Nike has created a “Mamba Day” campaign to honor Kobe and created a new video asking its stable of athletes about the Lakers legend.
The video was teased earlier in the week as many Nike athletes are wearing black and gold shoes to pay tribute to Kobe. Rory McIlroy wore black and gold cleats at the Masters earlier in the week.
Some of the athletes featured are LeBron James, Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, Kyrie Irving, Elena Delle Donne and Kevin Durant. They speak about their thoughts and feelings on Kobe, as well as his career and try to describe him in one word.
"History is written one word at a time.Join us and tell Kobe your last word. #MambaDay https://t.co/ffrHhYEbBthttps://t.co/MGlxKJlIcj— Nike Basketball (@nikebasketball) April 10, 2016"
Kobe is one of the best players ever and sure fire hall of famer. He helped make basketball a global sport throughout his career. A lot of the international players who are in the game now watched him growing up. Just look at how huge Kobe is in China.
I was never the biggest fan of Kobe. I never really like how he carried himself on the floor. The thing you have to respect about him is his killer instinct and how he just hated losing.
Kobe will definitely be missed and it will be odd watching a Lakers game without him on the floor next season.
