Indie wrestling star Ricochet/Prince Puma in Lucha Underground appears to be heading to WWE and NXT
Since Triple H began instituting his vision for NXT under the WWE brand, it seems as if they have been able to get the majority of the biggest names in indie wrestling to come wrestle down at Full Sail. However, one of the best and most electrifying young wrestlers in the world remained unsigned by WWE and outside of NXT as Ricochet/Prince Puma continued to be a part of New Japan Pro Wrestling, Lucha Underground, and other independent promotions. That may not be the case for much longer though.
There have been reports for several weeks now that Ricochet/Prince Puma could very well be on his way to NXT in the near future, but that there would need to be clear signs to really confirm that. In the course of 24 hours, there were two quite blatant signs that point to him coming to WWE.
For starters, at the tapings for Lucha Underground Season 3 on Saturday, there was a segment shot with a casket featuring Prince Puma’s face. While Ricochet/Puma was performing in Japan and not for LU, that he was given a casket could be his way of being written off of the show:

Then at NJPW Invasion Attack 2016 on Sunday, Ricochet and Matt Sydal were in a match defending their IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships against Roppongi Vice. Obviously, a loss would indicate that they needed Ricochet to drop the belt before he went to WWE and NXT. Ricochet and Sydal indeed did lose the match and their titles, thus giving another sign as to what Ricochet’s future is.
Though nothing is certain still, it’s as close as humanly possible to being confirmed without being 100 percent. And that’s great news for WWE, NXT, and wrestling fans as Ricochet being on a bigger stage is simply something the world needs.
