53.
Jared Goff is not the highest rated player available on Miller’s big board, but that won’t stop us from doing the right thing. To be fair, Miller rates Goff considerably ahead of the next quarterback on his list, Carson Wentz, and the Browns need a quarterback in the worst possible way.

Goff does rank among the top five for Miller, and it is easy to see why. He was highly productive during his time at Cal, and when a player has as much favorable game tape as Goff does, it makes it hard for skeptics to poke holes in his game.

Beyond that, Goff is the most accurate quarterback in his class at this stage, and he certainly has a big enough arm to make every throw needed on an NFL field. There are, of course, some negatives to his game, especially when compared to the more athletic Wentz, but the Browns have to prioritize the quarterback position. I feel comfortable projecting him to leap over a few players as Cleveland’s cornerstone of the future.

Robert Griffin III is going to start the season as the Browns quarterback, but that shouldn’t influences their decision making process when it comes to the number two pick. Unless there is a trade, this has to be either Goff or Wentz.
. QB. California. Jared Goff. 2. player
