Baltimore Ravens: 5 worst draft picks of all-time

1 of 6

Who are the five worst draft picks in Baltimore Ravens history?

The Baltimore Ravens have been very lucky in the NFL Draft since moving to Baltimore in 1996. They have drafted one current Hall of Famer (Jonathan Ogden) and two future ones (Ray Lewis and Ed Reed).

That doesn’t mean that they have a flawless record in the NFL Draft. They’ve struck out on a number of picks that could have changed the franchise’s fortune sooner than it got changed when they drafted Joe Flacco in 2008 or could have helped them win more than two Super Bowls.

To help determine who the worst picks are, several guidelines will be used.

  1. Who could they have drafted instead?
  2. How much of an influence did the draft pick have with Baltimore?
  3. Did they give up anything for the draft pick?
  4. What round was the draft pick selected in?

Baltimore has been blessed in that they aren’t too many clear swing and miss busts in the early rounds. However, even general manager Ozzie Newsome, an expert at selecting talent in the NFL Draft, isn’t perfect. He has made his fair share of mistakes.

Let’s take a look at the five worst draft picks in Ravens history.
