His thoughts certainly are in line with what everyone has been saying since the incident. For Thomas, the situation hits closer for him because of the fact that he was there to witness someone he considered a brother killed in the streets.

With each passing day, the story of the situation continues to take new turns and it continues to get sadder and sadder. At the end of the day, the world lost a father, friend, brother and a former great football player.

If there’s anything that stands out about the fallout, it’s that players and coaches are really starting to take a stand against the violence that is happening in cities and are trying to use the platform that they have as players to try and encourage others to not partake in violence.

It’s a tremendously sad situation and seeing Thomas’ Facebook post really shows the world of emotions that he is currently feeling right now. Smith was to be inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame this season.
