Sergio Aguero has just missed a penalty in Manchester City’s crucial Champions League tie with Paris Saint Germain.
It just might be Paris Saint Germain’s day. Sergio Aguero is one of the best strikers in the world. Clinical in front of goal, decisive and deliberate in his finishing, he so often shocks with his superb skill and quality. But he has now given PSG a lifeline. With the nervy tie at the Eithad Stadium still goalless, Manchester City were looking to extend their narrow aggregate lead, based on their two away goals in the first leg. Unfortunately for the Citizens, their star striker missed the golden opportunity.
With PSG dominating possession, although rather toothless in front of goal, the night looked bleak for the English club. However, they were given a glimmer of hope when Aguero was brought down by a reckless Kevin Trapp. The goal keeper dived in, brought down the Argentine, and the referee had no choice but to point to the spot.
A cheer went up around the ground, but the joy and hope quickly turned to murmurs of disappointment as Aguero stepped up and dragged the ball wide.
Painful moment for @MCFC fans. #UCL #MCIPSG https://t.co/p1qDIklUFV

It was a poor penalty miss and leaves the tie in the balance. After the 2-2 first leg draw, the winner of the tie is anyone’s guess. After Aguero’s latest penalty miss, the result is still far from decided. It is set to be an exciting second half.
