5 reasons Dallas Mavericks can win the NBA Finals
Consider it a long shot, but here are five reasons why the Dallas Mavericks can win the NBA Finals.
No doubt this would be one of the bigger shocks in sports history. The Mavericks currently sit as an underdog with about 250:1 odds to win the NBA championship this year. They will more than likely enter as the six-seed with a record of 43-39 in a Western Conference that is about as good as a conference can get at the top.
On the road to the playoffs, they lost a key piece and a guy who easily could have improved their chances this year when Chandler Parson went down to season-ending surgery.
However as a franchise, the Mavericks have plenty of playoff experience. They have only missed the playoffs once since the 1999-2000 season, Dirk Nowitzki’s second season in the NBA. That was the 2012-13 season meaning that they have now made their third straight appearance in the big dance, and have been in 14 of the last 15 playoffs.
In that time they have been to the conference finals three times, the NBA Finals twice, and how can we forget their 2011 NBA championship run against the Miami Heat?
Here are the five biggest reasons the Dallas Mavericks could shock the world and bring home the NBA title.
