Barack Obama tweets excitement about Warriors, Kobe’s final game

President Barack Obama is amped for tonight’s NBA action.

There was plenty of discussion about whether you would rather watch the Golden State Warriors try to break an NBA record with their 73rd win against the Memphis Grizzlies or watch Kobe Bryant in his final game.

I dismissed that conversation immediately because I am watching both, and I would hope that’s the same answer given by NBA fans with two historic events tipping off at the same time tonight.

Of the many fans watching the NBA action tonight is none other than President Obama who shared his excitement for tonight’s slate of action on twitter. And credit Obama — or whoever is running the twitter account for him — because it included an awesome gif of Obama doing the Steph Curry dance.

You can watch Kobe in his final game on ESPN and you can watch Curry and the Warriors pursuit of history on ESPN2. The decision by the ESPN to put Kobe’s game on ESPN2 and the Warriors on ESPN is a clear indicator of what they are anticipating will be the most-watched event.

I wonder if Obama, who is an unapologetic fan of the Chicago Bulls, will be rooting for the Warriors or if he’ll be rooting against them so they can only tie, not break, the record.

If he is rooting against them, would that make him a hater? Or would that just make him a Bulls fan who wants his team to keep its place in history?

In any event, I can imagine there are plenty of NBA fans just as geeked as Obama is for tonight’s historic slate.

If you can only watch one of the two marquee games tonight, would you watch the Warriors and their pursuit of the wins record or do you watch Kobe say goodbye?
