Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors were always going to be ridiculously good coming off of winning the NBA Championship last season and as they looked to defend their title. However, no one could have predicted that they would be historically great, which they already have been by tying the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls for the most wins in a regular season. On Wednesday night in their season finale against the Memphis Grizzlies inside ORACLE Arena, the Warriors will have the chance to stand alone with 73 wins.

There’s no question that it’s a huge mismatch on Wednesday night between the Warriors and Grizzlies. On one hand, the Warriors have the likely back-to-back MVP in Stephen Curry in addition to players like Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. On the other hand, the Grizzlies are without their two best players in Marc Gasol and Mike Conley to combat the Warriors and are instead led by the likes of Zach Randolph and Tony Allen. However, with the weight of history on Golden State’s shoulders, you have to wonder whether or not their talent will overcome it or if they will crumble at the thought of win No. 73.
