Here’s when you can watch Game 2 of the Eastern Conference first round playoff series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit Red Wings.
After an exciting and physical Game 1, the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning will now move on to Game 2 of their Eastern Conference first round playoff series.
The two teams will get a day off before meeting again Friday night at Amalie Arena. Game 2 begins at 7:00 p.m. Eastern on CNBC and can be streamed live using the NBC Sports Live Extra app. CBC and Fox Sports Detroit will also have coverage.
Tampa Bay beat Detroit 3-2 in Wednesday’s Game 1 to open the NHL postseason. With leading scorer Steven Stamkos out due to a blood clot in his arm, the Lightning got two goals out of Nikita Kucherov before Alex Killorn scored the game-winner nearly halfway through the third period.
The Red Wings will be desperate for a win on Friday night to avoid going back to home ice in a 2-0 hole. Slowing down Tampa Bay’s top line will be the priority, as Kucherov, Killorn and Tyler Johnson combined for seven points in Game 1.
Detroit could also use a little more out of an offense that struggled at times in the regular season. Lightning goalie Ben Bishop made 34 saves to hold the Red Wings to two goals despite facing fairly consistent pressure.
The two teams met in last year’s first round, and things often got chippy in Game 1 with many scrums after the play. Game 2 promises to be more intense as the pressure will only increase.
