player. 118.
Every year, certain teams get linked to positions in mock drafts, and the Jazz’s point guard situation makes that one of the most common in this year’s draft process. But the Jazz are going to have a frontcourt depth issue if Trevor Booker leaves in free agency, and with Ivan Rabb, Skal Labissiere, and Deyonta Davis all on the board, the Jazz could easily look for a point guard upgrade in free agency and opt for more youth on the interior.

Rabb mirrors 2015 Jazz 1st rounder Trey Lyles in that he’s multi-talented and played a somewhat limited role that didn’t allow him to showcase the full array of talents he possesses. Like Baldwin, Rabb does a little bit of everything well. He has a strong face-up game, he’s a willing passer, and he’s flashed outside shooting that could lead to development of a three-point shot. He has the size to move up to the center spot defensively, particularly if he’s next to a stronger four like Derrick Favors who can handle the muscle, and he shows good technique in rotating to weakside help and negotiating the pick-and-roll. Rabb also is an excellet rebounder for his size, and should continue to grow in that department as he gets stronger.

After Favors, Rudy Gobert, and now Lyles’s development, I trust Utah’s coaching staff and front office to be able to get the most out of a raw guy like Rabb. The Jazz could potentially have four homegrown bigs who all compliment each other well if this is how the draft lines up.
