Liverpool completed an incredible comeback against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.

Liverpool hosted Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of their Europa League quarterfinal pairing, and after the first leg ended 1-1 the Reds look poised to advance. Dortmund had other plans, taking a 2-0 lead in the first half and looking poised to eliminate Liverpool on their home turf in Anfield.

Then a bit of magic came about.

Youngster Divock Origi scored early in the second half to narrow the gap, but with Dortmund scoring two goals Liverpool would need three total goals to advance.

Then Dortmund’s Marco Reus scored to seemingly put a nail in the coffin for Liverpool, extending Dortmund’s lead to 3-1 in the game and putting Liverpool in a situation to score three goals to advance.

But Liverpool would not be denied.

Superstar Phillipe Coutinho got the ball rolling with a goal in the 66th minute to keep hope alive. It was a beautiful strike from outside the box to beat the keeper.

Then the unlikeliest of heroes in Mamadou Sakho scored to tie the game at 3-3. A low ugly corner kick found Sakho in the box, and the defender was able to get a head on it to redirect it in on goal to tie things up.

With the game tied at three and the aggregate tied at four, Dortmund still held the lead in away goals and Liverpool needed one more goal.

Like the game-tying goal, the unlikeliest of heroes in Dejan Lovren scored the game winner with a header after a cross cleared the box to the far post.
