The Golden State Warriors set the NBA record with 73 wins by beating the Grizzlies

125. 41. 104. 211. Final

The Golden State Warriors needed just one more win to stand alone at the top of the NBA record books with the most wins in history in a single regular season. Having already tied the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls’ record with 72 wins earlier in the week, they just needed to get past an injury ravaged Memphis Grizzlies team inside ORACLE Arena on Wednesday night to be the first ever to win 73 games.

With the way Stephen Curry was playing, win No. 73 was never in question.

Curry and the Warriors came out firing and couldn’t miss at all in the first half. Curry capped off the regular season the way he began it—not missing virtually any shot he threw in the general direction of the rim—and the rest of the Warriors followed suit.

Not that anyone gave the Grizzlies much of a chance in this game, but Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green were set on breaking records. In fact, Steph did it twice as he also became the first player to ever hit 400 three-pointers in a single season.

It was just a record-breaking type of night in ORACLE for the Warriors as they cruised to win No. 73.
