The NFL released the official schedule for the 2015 season on Thursday, meaning we now know which teams get the good primetime games. ESPN will be televising the Monday Night Football games for the 10th year in a row this coming season.
This year, ESPN will televise two NFL preseason games as part of its 2016 Monday Night Football schedule: the Pro Football Hall of Fame game for the first time, and the Los Angeles Rams’ first game at home since 1994.
NFL preseason on Sunday, Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. ET will showcase Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. The night before that, Saturday, Aug. 6, Packers icon Brett Favre, Colts’ Super Bowl-winning coach Tony Dungy and wide receiver Marvin Harrison will headline the Hall’s 2016 class of inductees. (NBC, the station which normally televises the game, will be airing the 2016 Summer Olympics in early August.)
We already have several games announced, including the regular-season opener (Sept. 8 in Denver), when the Broncos will celebrate their Super Bowl 50 win. The Thanksgiving games always are a hit, as will the NFL’s plans for Christmas Day, which will land on a Sunday. Monday night games are easily the most anticipated matchups of any given week, and you can guarantee that those in 2016 will be no exception.
