Rockets fans don’t even think their team can beat the Warriors (Photo)

The Houston Rockets may have done well to get themselves into the playoffs, but their fans have no faith in them beyond that.
After a slow start to the season, the Houston Rockets managed to claw their way into the playoffs. Their reward: a first round matchup with the best regular season team of all time, the Golden State Warriors. Facing James Harden is as tough a first round matchup that the Warriors could’ve asked for, but they beat them handily in five games last season.
And with practically everybody slotting Golden State into the Finals this year, nobody’s giving the Rockets a chance, not even their own fans.
When a local Houston station ran a poll of how far their team would go in the playoffs, an early exit was virtually unanimous:
However, once the vote closed, the figure changed to 3%. But even then, nobody gave them a chance of getting to the conference final:
Of course, this poll was run before they played the Sacramento Kings and Harden went off for 38 points. But not long after that, Steph Curry hung 46 on the Memphis Grizzlies as the Warriors clinched the best record in NBA history. The fact that the Warriors swept the season series against the Rockets doesn’t help matters either.
However, they’ve gotten this far, and Harden is good enough to win a game on his own. Stuff like this will no doubt push Houston to embrace the underdog mentality, but nobody said the playoffs were supposed to be easy. Add the fact that they’re still cursed by Lil B, and the odds are very clearly stacked against them.
