Washington Redskins’ 2016 NFL schedule released
By Jason Parker
Here’s a look at the game-by-game schedule for the Washington Redskins in the 2016 season.
When the 2015 season started for the Washington Redskins, no one expected things to play out the way they did. With a new starting quarterback under center, the nation’s capital was against the home of the NFC East Champs, as Washington made the playoffs for just the second time since the 2008 season.
If head coach Jay Gruden is going to get the team back to the playoffs, they will face a difficult schedule that includes their traditional NFC East opponents (Dallas, New York Giants and Philadelphia) in addition to a non-divisional slate that includes home games against Carolina, Pittsburgh and Green Bay and road contests including Baltimore, Arizona and Cincinnati.
The Washington Redskins’ 2016 schedule was released Thursday and ranks as the 17th toughest in the entire league. Here’s a look at who the Redskins will play when the regular season kicks off in early September:
The Redskins will enter the season knowing full well that Kirk Cousins is the quarterback of the future after he signed a long term, big money contact in the offseason to avoid having the franchise tag put on him. Cousins was named the starter before last season ahead of Robert Griffin III, who was released last month and signed with the Cleveland Browns.
