Of all the storylines though the first week and a half of the 2016 Major League Baseball season, one of the biggest doesn’t have anything to do with an individual performance or a team’s success, but just how bad one team has become.
Entering Friday’s action, the Atlanta Braves are sitting with a big old goose egg in the win column, losing nine straight to open the season (just one short of setting a team record for worst record to start a season). The horrible play of the team and questionable coaching has led to another chorus of talks regarding manager Fredi Gonzalez and his future with the team.
With very little hopes in sight that the Atlanta Braves will turn things around and get the team back to the postseason for the first time since 2013, plenty of people want Gonzalez to be shown the door as soon as possible. Even with 153 games left on the 2016 schedule, there is plenty of evidence to show it’s time for Fredi to go.
