The situations involving Johnny Manziel and Josh Gordon seem to be getting worse by the day.
The tailspin of former Browns player Johnny Manziel and currently suspended one Josh Gordon has been noted over the weeks and months. Both men seemingly can’t stay out of trouble. Manziel’s off-the-field antics cost him his roster spot and Gordon was recently denied reinstatement into the NFL after failing another drug test.
Then came the story of Manziel allegedly trashing a house he rented out for he and his friends. According to Cleveland.com, to make matters even worse, the owner of a rental agency says a person under the name of ‘Josh Gordon’ was at the house as well. It’s not confirmed if it’s the Browns wide receiver, but early speculation would indicate that it is him.
The rental agency owner, Nicholas Goodwin, also said he didn’t see Manziel and Gordon doing drugs, but saw cocaine and mushrooms while the players were in the home.
All of this also comes after a report of Manziel and Gordon living together.
The off-the-field lives of these guys are a mess. It’s getting to a point where neither have a great chance of making it back into the NFL. Gordon can’t reapply for reinstatement until August of this year. Any team showing interest in the former Heisman Trophy winner would be stunning as well until he attempts to clean his life up.
It’s a sad situation for two talented athletes. Hopefully, they get things straightened out sooner than later.
