A look back at the five best selections the New York Giants have made on draft day throughout their history

The New York Giants have been in existence since 1925 and are considered one of the more successful franchises in NFL history. They won four NFL Championships (in 1927, 1934, 1938 and 1956) before the AFL-NFL merger.

Since the 1970 merger of the two leagues, the Giants have won four more championships as they were the victors in Super Bowl XXI (1986), XXV (1990), XLII (2007), and XLVI in 2011.

Any team putting together such strings of success have had to hit on more than their share of solid draft picks. It won’t be easy to look back over 91 seasons as a franchise, but that’s exactly what we will try to do here as we narrow down the best five draft picks of all-time made by the New York Giants.

Before we get into the top five, here are some honorable mentions that just barely missed the cut:

Jason Pierre-Paul, DE South Florida – 2010 Draft Round 1, Pick 15

Justin Tuck, DE Notre Dame – 2005 Draft Round 3, Pick 74

Tiki Barber, RB Virginia – 1997 Draft Round 2, Pick 36

Brandon Jacobs, RB – 2005 Draft Round 4, Pick 110 Southern Illinois

So with all that said, let’s get started with the fifth best draft pick made by the G-Men!
