NHL Playoffs: Blues vs. Blackhawks Game 2 live stream: Watch online
Chicago Blackhawks vs. St. Louis Blues
The Chicago Blackhawks will once again face the St. Louis Blues at the Scottrade Center for Game 2 of their first-round series in the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
After losing in OT 1-0 after a brutally monotonous three periods—their third consecutive loss to St. Louis—Chicago aims to even the score and continue on their journey to the Stanley Cup Finals. Goaltender Corey Crawford will receive more support in the defense beginning tonight now that 2015 Conn Smythe winner Duncan Keith’s six-game suspension has officially ended. Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane will attempt to sharpen their power play after going 0/5 in Game 1.
The Blues will once again rely upon star goaltender Brian Elliott to kill the Blackhawks’ chances at the net. Elliott, who made 35 saves in Game 1, led the league with a .930 save percentage; he also posted a 1.76 GAA and three shutouts in his final eight starts this season.
St. Louis’ primary goal is to end their ugly history facing the Blackhawks in the postseason. In last season’s playoffs, the Blues pushed them into four straight OT games, and while three of St. Louis’s regular season games were won in OT, Chicago has a knack for winning postseason OT contests. At the end of the day, the Blues must remain cautious—they appeared in control of the series in 2014 after winning two straight OT games but then dropped the next four matches to the Blackhawks.
