NHL Playoffs: Islanders vs. Panthers Game 2 live stream: Watch online
New York Islanders vs. Florida Panthers
Following a thrilling Game 1, the New York Islanders and Florida Panthers won’t get much time to regroup before meeting again in their Eastern Conference first round playoff series.
Game 2 will take place at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on Friday night at the BB&T Center. The Islanders stole Game 1 on the road with a 5-4 victory despite being down by a goal on three different occasions.
John Taveras turned in a highlight-reel performance with a goal and two assists to lead the Islander to the opening win. With goalie Jaroslav Halak still out with a groin injury, backup Thomas Greiss was terrific with 42 saves to hold off a potent Florida offense. Five different Islanders scored on Roberto Luongo, who made just 21 saves on 26 shots
Jussi Jokinen and Reilly Smith tallied three points each for a productive Florida second line. Jaromir Jagr and the first line dominated the run of play, but were unable to find a way past Greiss, which needs to chance if the Panthers are going to avoid an 0-2 hole heading to the Barclays Center.
