NHL Playoffs: When is Islanders vs. Panthers Game 3?
Here’s when you can watch Game 3 of the Eastern Conference first round playoff series between the New York Islanders and Florida Panthers.
In Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first round playoff series, the Florida Panthers dominated play against the New York Islanders, but took a tough 5-4 loss. The script was flipped in Game 2, as the Islanders outshot and out-chanced the Panthers in a 3-2 defeat.
Now, the series will head back to Brooklyn knotted up at one. Game 3 starts at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on the NBC Sports Network and can be streamed live using the NBC Sports Live Extra App.
After a sloppy Game 1, the Panthers cut down on crucial defensive mistakes Friday night to even the series. Goaltender Roberto Luongo bounced back from a tough outing Wednesday night by making 41 saves, and the team did a much better job as a whole limiting Islanders star John Taveras, although he tallied a late goal.
Florida’s potent offense has been paced by its second line in the series so far. Reilly Smith added a goal and a pretty assist on Friday night to up his series point total to five.
The Panthers may need Jaromir Jagr to find the back of the net to win Game 3 in the Barclays Center. Jagr and the top line have been unable to register on the scoresheet yet, but have put plenty of pressure on through the first two games.
After a great two games in Florida, Islanders backup goalie Thomas Greiss will look to continue his strong effort filling in for the injured Jaroslav Halak.
