Tampa Bay Rays players Kevin Kiermaier and Logan Forsythe left Friday’s game after a dangerous collision.

On Friday night, the Tampa Bay Rays took on the Chicago White Sox at home. However, the game took a scary turn in the middle of the evening.

White Sox player Avisail Garcia hit a shallow pop fly to center field. Rays players Logan Forsythe, Kevin Kiermaier and Brandon Guyer would all converge on the ball.

Unfortunately, Forsythe and Kiermaier collided into each other and went down hard. A look at this scary incident can be seen below.

Both players would leave the game as Forsythe suffered leg and hip bruises while Kiermaier’s status is unknown. It looked like he hurt his head in the video, so it’s possible he’s being evaluated for a concussion. Corey Dickerson and Brad Miller would replace them in the game.

These incidents tend to happen here and there, sometimes due to bad communication. Two or more players go for a pop fly at once and if one doesn’t say “I got it” or one of them doesn’t hear this said, then it could turn into an ugly situation. That’s what is the case with this incident.

It would be unfortunate to see the Rays lose these players for a significant period. However, they have decent depth that could fill the gap if the injuries are severe.
