Tim Tebow, who appears to be done with his football playing days, could be making a run for a seat in the U.S. Congress.

Across the country, Tim Tebow may be one of the most polarizing players to ever touch a football and play in the NFL. After six years playing for four different teams, it appears that Tebow’s days in the pros may finally have come to an end.

In the state of Florida, particularly among fans of the Florida Gators (where he won two national titles and a Heisman Trophy) and in the Jacksonville area he grew up, Tebow is treated like royalty and someone who can do whatever he wants.

Apparently, that also includes a potential run for the United States Congress. With the long running representative from the Jacksonville district that Tebow lives in and runs his business and charity organization in, some are trying to get Tebow in the political game, according to the Washington Examiner:

"Republican sources told the Examiner that they are reaching out to Tebow in hopes he will consider a bid. They are even quietly pulling together a potential campaign team that he could use for the upcoming August 30 primary. “We could hit the ground running, immediately,” said the source."

If Tebow does indeed run, members of the GOP think he would be a “shoo-in” for the seat and he would bring out more voters in an election year that has proven to be crazy enough without adding another sideshow.

Tim Tebow recently told an interviewer at his charity golf event that he “wasn’t ruling out” a future in politics and would see what was going on at a given time before making a decision. If he does make a run, he would likely have to give up his seat as a analyst for the SEC Network, which he returned to after his last failed attempt at returning to the NFL.
