Patrick Beverley got into a scuffle with Stephen Curry, so Draymond Green laid him out with a moving screen

When the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets faced off in the Western Conference Finals last season, one of the narratives that kept coming up was the absence of Rockets point guard Patrick Beverley and how his defense and ability to get under the skin of opponents would’ve affected Stephen Curry and the eventual champs. As it turns out, it didn’t take long for the two guards to get into a bit of a scuffle—but it was Draymond Green that handed out the heftiest blow.

After Curry and Beverley got into a brief kerfuffle and after the officials dished out double-techs, the Warriors were on offense once again. As Curry ran around screens on the perimeter, he led Beverley right into the path of a Draymond Green screen and the big Warriors forward stuck out his shoulder a bit to absolutely level the Houston point guard:

Draymond Green was called for the foul and rightfully so, but man did he send a bit of a message to Beverley. Yes, the Rockets guard might’ve flopped a little bit, but he definitely would’ve been laid out to some degree regardless of any theatrics.

If this is just the first quarter of this series involving these two teams and with Beverley involved, somebody get the ice and the Band-Aids ready; this is going to be a physical battle for both teams.
