team. 211.
I’m sorry, Memphis.

The Grizzlies have been an NBA institution for a number of years, playing a “grit and grind” style that has galvanized their fan base and provided an alternate approach to many of the teams around the league. At the moment, though, no playoff team should be scared of this Memphis team, simply because Dave Joerger’s bunch has been battered by injuries at an insane level.

Memphis will be without their two best players in Marc Gasol and Mike Conley, and that is just the beginning. The Grizzlies have relied on players like Jordan Farmar, P.J. Hairston, Xavier Munford and JaMychal Green in recent weeks, and it isn’t as if this team is suddenly going to be healthier as the playoffs begin.

That isn’t to say that Memphis won’t compete (just ask the Warriors), because they always seem to hang around. However, there is no question that this is the least talented team remaining in the 16-team field (and their 3-14 record since March 11 reflects that), making this an easy choice despite the fact that the Grizzlies are not matched up against the Golden State Warriors in round one.
.
